It's Started!

Well, things have finally happened on our block. On Monday we met with the site supervisor to run through everything and the pad got cut. We were surprised that it didn't look as bad as we had been thinking it would be. Once it was cut the building envelope seemed to look a whole lot bigger.

On Tuesday the block sat and had a rest, and then on Wednesday the surveyors were back out pegging out the house. We went out in the afternoon for a look and noticed that things seemed a lot smaller than we'd thought, however, when we went out today and looked at it with the screw piers in, it looked big again. I'm sure it's going to go from looking big to small and back again the whole way through the process.

Here are a few shots we've taken over the last week:

Screw pier close up (yes, very exciting LOL)

With any luck, if the rain holds off, we'll have a slab at the end of next week. Yay for us!!!!!

Construction Sign

I went for a drive past the block today (you know, just to see how it hasn't changed at all) and to my surprise found a construction sign on our place and the place next door. It was very exciting. Just over a week now until it all starts and seeing this sign has finally made it feel real!
